Bio
Steve Beard is the creator of Thunderstruck -- a website exploring pop culture and spirituality. He was previously the Editor-in-chief of Risen Magazine and contributed chapters on Bono, Johnny Cash and Al Green to the book "Spiritual Journeys: How Faith Has Influenced Twelve Music Icons."
In the last few years, his professional travels have led him to England, India, Argentina, Brazil, Singapore, Malaysia, and Cuba Prior to moving to Kentucky's bluegrass country in 1991, he served as research assistant at the Institute on Religion and Democracy and the Ethics and Public Policy Center. Both institutions are located in Washington, DC. He is a member of Am Herratz, a fraternity devoted to gluttony, tomfoolery and mad-capped hijinx.
While growing up in southern California, Steve played a big, fat upright bass in a rockabilly/swing band called The Belvederes. Steve lives outside Lexington, Kentucky with his wife, Michelle, and their son, John Paul, and their dog Murry.
